Teaching

I emphasize a teaching style that encourages students to apply academic theories to real-world challenges through case discussions, assignments, games, and group projects.

Creating an inclusive and supportive classroom is central to my approach. My goal is to foster an environment where students feel confident sharing ideas, challenging assumptions, and engaging in meaningful dialogue. Student feedback reflects this impact. A student from the Core Strategy Course noted “She has encouraged me to be confident in my answers in class, creating a safe space to have fruitful discussions and share ideas.” Another student remarked “Professors like her are so hard to come by! She encourages everyone during class participation and is very open about different views which really reassures students, creating a very safe space to speak their minds.”

I have developed a number of teaching cases that expose students to real-world strategic and entrepreneurial challenges:

Vibefam: Raising the Bar(bell) in the Singapore Fitness Industry

This case follows the journey of Vibefam, a Singapore-based startup offering a management platform for boutique fitness studios. It highlights how early-stage ventures identify customer pain points, test product-market fit, and make decisions about scaling. Students are invited to step into the founder’s shoes, exploring trade-offs in product design, team management, and growth strategies.

Dating Disruption – How Tinder Gamified an Industry

This case explores how Tinder disrupted the online dating industry by targeting youngsters who often viewed online dating as stigmatized. By reframing dating as a game, Tinder attracted new user segments and harnessed network effects to scale rapidly, challenging established incumbents. The case invites students to consider how market entry choices and platform dynamics enable smaller players to break into and reshape digital industries.
